Meenatchi has acquired her Ph. D in Agricultural Entomology from University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad in July 2008. Organics in pest management with special emphasis on vermitechnology and DNA fingerprinting of earthworms using RAPD- PCR was the research areas of her Doctoral Degree Dissertation. She had worked also on semio-chemicals in pest management and tritrophic interaction between plant, pest, and parasitoid. Her areas of research and teaching interest include storage entomology, pheromones, waste management, organics in pest management, vermitechnology and environmental studies. She served as Rural Development Officer in Union Bank of India, Kumbakonam prior to joining IICPT as scientist in Aug 2010. She has experiences in training the farmers and Self Help Groups in establishing Vermicomposting Units to start own entrepreneurship through linking banks for credit facilities. She has wide array of research publications in national and International journals. She teaches Storage Entomology and Environmental Science Courses for the Students.
